  • Rural Health - Orrville (in conjunction with Aultman Orrville Hospital
  • Surgery 
  • Advanced rotations in administration, critical care, emergency medicine, infectious disease, Hospice and palliative care, infusion, and teaching are also available
  • Other rotations may be available depending on service and preceptor availability

**Completing either Critical Care or Emergency Medicine is required

Longitudinal Rotations (required)

  • Ambulatory Care (6 months)
    • One afternoon every week
  • Inpatient Pharmacy Staffing 
    • Every 3rd weekend, minimum of 25 shifts
  • Medication Safety (6 months)
    • Recitation and lab time one afternoon every other week
  • Leadership and Practice Management
    • Quarterly dedicated lab time
  • Research Project
    • 6 seminars a year
    • Project month (December)
    • Dedicated lab time in the 3rd and 4th quarter
  • Teaching (Teaching Certificate through the University of Connecticut)


Description:
Residents will serve as active members of interdisciplinary teams and participate in a wide variety of clinical rotations to enhance and refine their pharmacy practice skills and knowledge. With 15 pharmacy specialists and more than 600 licensed beds, the pharmacy department boasts a robust resident learning environment. The strengths of the program include ambulatory care, cardiology, internal medicine, emergency medicine, infectious disease, and critical care. Residents will also have the opportunity to earn a teaching certificate. Resident graduates will be prepared for acute care clinical and staff pharmacist positions, adjunct faculty positions and a variety of PGY-2 programs.
