About Aultman Emergency Medicine

  • Our department:
    • The Aultman emergency department at the main campus serves more than 50 emergency room beds. We are a level II trauma center, a STEMI receiving center, and a Primary Stroke Center with approximately 70,000 visits a year.
  • Clinical pharmacy services and involvement:
    • Coordinating care for patients awaiting psychiatric or rehabilitation/skilled nursing placement from the ED
    • Anticoagulation monitoring
    • Antimicrobial stewardship and therapy recommendations
    • Creation and application of medication protocols
    • Supervision of medication history technician
    • Response to intubations, code blues, stroke alerts, traumas, pediatric emergencies
    • Answers to drug information questions
    • Coordinate care for inpatients boarded in the ED
    • Formal staff and patient education
    • Membership on various hospital committees
